Government Engineering
College at Trichur ( also known as Thrissur ) is a premier institution
in the Kerala State of India. Situated in a sprawling campus of over 75
acres, 5 kms from downtown Trichur, the cultural capital of Kerala, the
college was setup by the Government of Kerala in the year 1958 and is
the second oldest engineering college in the state. The foundation
stone was laid by the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru on 26th April, 1958. The first Principal was Prof. S
Rajaraman. The first batch graduated from the college in the year 1962.
Till date the college has to its credit, more than 12000 alumni
spanning the entire globe.
The college offers undergraduate programs (B.Tech) in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Production cum Plant Engineering, various graduate programs (M.Tech) and MCA. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut. Address : |
